OY YO Snow globe - Artist Series - By Deborah Kass
Our interpretation of the original bright yellow aluminium statue is creative wordplay using just two letters with several meanings. One side says "YO," referencing the attention-getting phrase used throughout the world, as well as "OY," a popular Yiddish phrase used in Jewish and American culture.
"I created YO/OY thinking about the American promise of equality and fairness and our responsibilities to make the country a better place for all," says Kass. "It's urgent to see our commonalities, what we share, and what brings us together."
Keep your globe out of direct sunlight. Sunlight shining through the water is a magnifier and can cause a fire. Sunlight can also cause the water to discolour. Dust with a soft cloth. Glass cleaner is fine on the globe.
Snow globes are made of glass and are not toys for children.
