Ceremonials by Shira Keret is an ongoing project that searches for new forms in the familiar paradigm of Judaica.
Born out of a passion to combine the everyday functionality of tableware and the beauty and splendour of jewellery, Ceremonials aspires to create objects that, true to their nature, hold within them both domestic utility as well as a sense of holiness and wonder.
Constructed as heirlooms for future generations, these objects are made from the best, most timeless materials, and are fabricated by the finest craftsmen, to ensure their beauty and utility persists into the future.
Ceremonials' Porcelain Mezuzah was designed as an amphora that houses the parchment itself. The letter Shin inscribed on the mezuzah face was designed by a master calligrapher, representing a modern interpretation of the ancient Hebrew script used in period scrolls and letters unearthed in the area.
Crafted from coloured porcelain with a copper back, the Mezuzah measures 12cm in height and 2cm in diameter, and best fits a 10cm scroll. Perfect as a wedding or housewarming gift.
