Ceremonials by Shira Keret is an ongoing project that searches for new forms in the familiar paradigm of Judaica.

Born out of a passion to combine the everyday functionality of tableware and the beauty and splendour of jewellery, Ceremonials aspires to create objects that, true to their nature, hold within them both domestic utility as well as a sense of holiness and wonder.

Constructed as heirlooms for future generations, these objects are made from the best, most timeless materials, and are fabricated by the finest craftsmen, to ensure their beauty and utility persists into the future.

Ceremonials' Porcelain Kiddush Cup is deconstructed into two distinct units, conjuring the ceremony itself in which the kiddush cup passes from hand to hand, only to return to the ceremony leader once the circle is complete. The text revealed once the bowl is separated from the base was designed by a master calligrapher, representing a modern interpretation of the ancient Hebrew script used in period scrolls and letters unearthed in the area.

Crafted from coloured porcelain with a gold-plated interior, the Kiddush Cup measures 11.5cm in height and 8cm in diameter. The perfect wedding or holiday gift, it comes beautifully packaged in a wooden gift box.

Ceremonials' Porcelain Kiddush Cup comes in silver grey and lavender, pearl grey and dark teal, and blush with warm terracotta. Please get in touch if you would like to order a colour way not currently offered in the Museum Shop.
