To accompany the album Songs to Infinity by Melbourne based band The Bashevis Singers, These Liner notes compile nine Zoharic poems from Hillel Zeitlins’ 1931 'Gezangen tsum Ein Sof. Each song or prayer is presented in both the original Yiddish and English translation, together with a corresponding papercut artwork, incorporating calligraphic embellishments and Kabbalistic symbolism. The paper cuts were created by Melbourne artist Tunni Kraus in 2024, and the project is from the local Yiddish collective Di Farborgene Khalyastre.
'This book of songs that I give to you here aspires to be your most authentic and innermost friend, what which suffers with you and that which rejoices with you; that which is "a jackal to weep you woe" and "a lute for your song"; that which afflicts you, when the singer afflicts himself, and comfrots and soothes you.' – Hillel Zeitlin
