A series of powerful new works by fibre artist Tammy Kanat, Circle of Her explores female archetypes through large-scale woven installations. The exhibition and accompanying publication reimagine traditional narratives through a contemporary lens – with vibrant colour, intricate texture and a deeply symbolic approach.
Along with archetypes like Lilith, Miriam, Sarah & Ruth, the sculptures pay tribute to the women in the artist’s own life – her mother, daughters, sister, friends & fellow artists – all part of a circle that holds, nurtures & binds. For at its heart, Circle of Her is about honouring the threads that shape us, the women we come from, those beside us & the ones we carry within.
